New Books on the Block {1} - Sequels

There are some fab books out at the moment. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to talk about them during October, but here are my highlights for the past couple of months. I will also be recommending some November releases next week so keep your ears to the ground!

Crossed by Allie Condie was released back in June and is the next installment after Matched (read my review here). "In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake."  I look forward to knowing what happens. The end of Matched was such a cliffhanger!

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer was released in July and is the next book on the Nightshade series (read my review of the first book, Nightshade, here) "When Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemies, she’s certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer—one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack—and the man—she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive." Another cliffhanger. You just need to know what happens next, don't you?

Settling is the second book by Shelley Workinger and it follows Solid (read my review here). It was released in July and is currently the next book on my reading pile. My hands are itching!!! "Picking up where “Solid” left off, Clio and her friends realize that they aren’t ready to go home; they’re determined to stay on campus and continue their journey of self- discovery. But someone doesn’t feel the same way and will do anything to drive them away – even kill. Friendships will be tested, abilities will evolve, and more secrets will come out as the teens race to stop the killer before he sets his sights on one of them…"

The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore follows the hugely popular book-turned-movie I'm Number Four (read review here). It was released in August and at the time this article went live there were no plans to make it into a movie like its predecessor.  However, its eBook was adapted by Booktrack, to have synchronized music, sound effects, and ambient sounds to the text."They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed. I am Number Seven. One of six still alive. And I'm ready to fight."

Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick is the third book in the very popular Hush Hush series (read my review of Hush Hush here). It released in October. "The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever."

Muse by Rebecca Lim is another book I am dying to read. It's part of Mercy, one of the series that has become my favourite this year (read my review of Exile, the second book, here). Muse is the third book. "'There's something very wrong with me. When I wake up, I could be anyone…' An angel searching for answers, for her destiny…  In the third MERCY paranormal romance, Mercy wakes in a new unknown host: a troubled Russian supermodel on the verge of a very public breakdown.  Her love for Ryan and Luc is burning stronger than ever. But who will she make the ultimate sacrifice for?"

Plenty of good reads there so if you haven't heard of any of this series yet, check them out!
